About the Author
Ashley Chon is a high school student attending Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology located in Northern Virginia. Ashley has always had a passion for expressing herself through her writing. Ashley has received numerous writing awards ranging from Scholastic Writing Awards, John Locke Institute International Essay Competition Award and PTA Reflections Award of Merit. Ashley also had the privilege of some of her work being published in the Golden Moose Talent. While Ashley loves a variety of writing styles, her energy and true self is best portrayed through her poetry.
In addition to her love for writing, Ashley enjoys sports and physical activities. She plays lacrosse, runs cross country and frequently goes hiking. Ashley leveraged her enjoyment for hiking to tap into her final passion, the environment. Ashley founded Hiking Heroes, a hiking club that promotes well-being and environmental advocacy both locally and abroad.
