Burden
Walking up a mountain
With a large bucket of water
Strapped on your back
So you can quench the thirst of those
At the top
Holding up the roof
Night after night
Acting as Atlas for those below
So they can sleep peacefully
Under the shade
Walking through a maze of thorns
Before everyone else
Crushing each with your bare fists
So you can safely guide those
Blind to the dangers

Butchering yourself
Preparing a feast
Of your soul
So you can feed those
Whose stomachs yet to be filled
Held slave to a deal
Not shaken upon
But in the end
Who are you
To object
To bear the burden of life
