Thin Skin

When I was younger

I always wanted to leave

Leave my room

Leave the house

And announce to the world

With arms wide open

This is me!

But at some strange

point in time

I no longer want to go out anymore

For I found that

Opening your arms out wide

And enjoying the world for what it is

For loving yourself as you are

Is naïve
